With its long tradition of excellence, the choral program at the Frost School of Music is well known for its outstanding ensembles. A regular presence at local, national, and international venues, the Frost Choirs have multiple performances at the American Choral Directors Association and National Association of Music Education conferences. The choirs have collaborated with a diverse array of esteemed artists and ensembles including Maria Guinand, Michael Tilson Thomas, Helmut Rilling, José Carreras, Juanes, Jon Secada, The Cleveland Orchestra, Florida Philharmonic, Frost Symphony Orchestra, Master Chorale of South Florida, New World Symphony and more.
Graduates of the Frost School of Music Choral Studies program hold prominent positions in the field as academics, professional conductors, composers, and are highly visible practitioners of choral art. The Master of Music in Choral Conducting and Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting provide a comprehensive academic experience, where students engage in rigorous coursework combined with practical podium experience.
The Frost Choral Studies program is proud to announce its new Seraphic Fire Scholars program. This program provides the opportunity for 8 Frost Choral Studies singers to perform with the world-renowned professional choir Seraphic Fire, as well as gives the opportunity for 1 graduate student to serve as Assistant Conductor for the ensemble. Auditions for the 8 spots will be held in the Spring semester each year, and members of this program will be drawn from students in Frost Chorale. To audition for Frost choirs, please click below.
